Here’s What to Know About the 2026 Choreography Emmy Awards

There may still not be an Oscar for film choreography. But there are two Emmy Awards for dance on television—and they’ll be given this weekend.

The winners of the 2026 Emmys for Outstanding Choreography for Scripted Programming and Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming will be announced during a two-night ceremony at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater, September 5 and 6. Formerly known as the Creative Arts Emmys, the celebration recognizes a range of behind-the-scenes and technical achievements in TV.

Unlike the Primetime Emmys (happening September 14), these shows won’t air or stream live. Instead, a condensed edit of the two nights will run September 12 at 8 pm EDT/PDT on FXX, and will be available on Hulu the next day. While we don’t know who will be presenting what award, dance luminary Julianne Hough—herself an Emmy winner for “Dancing with the Stars”—has been confirmed as one of the presenters. And the nominee list is bursting with dance star-power.
