Another Fashion Week season has descended in Seoul, and the beloved Dongdaemun Design Plaza, its main venue, is buzzing with both K-Pop stars and some of the city’s most tapped-in fashionistas, all eager to see what the intrepid designers have cooked up. Custom nail art has long been one of the big K-beauty trends, and this season street stylers take it to further lengths than ever before. There’s a whiff of the gothic on the streets around DDP, as well as plenty of matching sets and, interestingly, clothing worn backwards. Accessories, like neckties and chain jewelry, are imparting an extra edge to otherwise sleekly minimal outfits. And that’s just scratching the surface.
