The Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba is the only property in downtown Oranjestad, flanked by colorful Dutch Colonial–style buildings. The resort consists of two buildings: the adults-only Marina building and the Ocean Suites located across the road. Each building has its own pool, including an adults-only infinity pool that looks over the downtown district and cruise port. The real draw here is Renaissance Island, the resort’s private island accessible by the property’s water taxi. Here you can find private cabanas overlooking the water, hidden hammocks nestled near mangroves, and Flamingo Beach, where a flamboyance of the pink birds wander around the coastline. While it may not be as convenient as having the beach directly outside your hotel room, there’s something romantic about a private island. If you’re in the market for a souvenir, the Marina building also shares space with several high-end retailers, like Louis Vuitton, Prada, and more. The location also puts you within convenient walking distance of some notable downtown restaurants, and offers delicious on-property choices as well, like the table-side butcher experience at L.G. Smith’s Steak & Chop House. The resort rooms are clean and filled with character, featuring pops of tropical colors and textures, like rattan chairs and lamps, and dark wood tones.
