Tomorrowland’s Symphony of Unity orchestra performed a classical version of Faithless’ ‘Insomnia’ on the Freedom Stage this afternoon. Watch a clip below.

The 60-piece ensemble delivered an hour-long set that paired electronic dance music with cinematic orchestral arrangements, revisiting some of the biggest tracks in Tomorrowland’s history.

The Symphony of Unity orchestra will return to the Freedom Stage later this evening (Saturday 18th July) for its second performance of Tomorrowland’s opening weekend, which kicked off yesterday in Boom, Belgium.

Alongside ‘Insomnia’, the troupe performed orchestral versions of Energy 52’s ‘Café del Mar’, David Guetta and Sia’s ‘Titanium’, Eric Prydz’s ‘Generate’, ‘Reload’ by Sebastian Ingrosso, Tommy Trash and John Martin, and Swedish House Mafia tracks including ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ and ‘Ray Of Solar’.

Earlier this year, Symphony of Unity released its debut album, ‘Orchestral Selection I’, featuring orchestral reinterpretations of dance music classics that have become staples of the ensemble’s performances.

Conductor Kevin Houben shared: “This album celebrates the music itself, the friendships within the orchestra and the team behind it, and the shared passion that allows these iconic tracks to be experienced in a completely new way.”
