The Accountant 2 — Prime Video

Format: Action thriller film; sequel to 2016’s The Accountant.

Ben Affleck returns as Christian Wolff, who works with his estranged brother Braxton, played by Jon Bernthal, to investigate the death of former FinCEN director Raymond King. Their investigation puts them in the sights of a dangerous network. J.K. Simmons and Cynthia Addai-Robinson also appear.

Why watch: This is the weekend’s most straightforward action pick and the strongest option for viewers who want a feature film rather than another series. The sibling dynamic also gives the sequel a reason to expand beyond the first film’s lone-wolf setup.

Keep in mind: The film arrived on Prime Video on June 5, 2025. Prime Video availability and whether a film is included with a subscription can vary by country and over time; a subscription listing is not automatically proof that every viewer gets the same access.

Stick — Apple TV+

Format: New scripted comedy-drama series.

Owen Wilson plays Pryce Cahill, a former professional golfer whose career collapsed after an on-course meltdown. He attempts to rebuild his life and reputation by coaching Santi, a promising young golfer played by Peter Dager.

Why watch: Stick offers a lighter, more character-focused alternative to the weekend’s crime and action titles. It is a natural fit for viewers interested in sports stories, comeback narratives, or Owen Wilson in a dramatic-comic role.

Tyler Perry’s Straw — Netflix
