Nutty Professor Trailer New

“Someone better call exorcist!” Remember this one? Universal Pictures has unveiled a brand new re-release trailer for the comedy The Nutty Professor celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year. Nutty Professor was director Tom Shadyac’s second big hit after making Ace Ventura in 1994, this time a romantic comedy about a big guy who invents a skinny serum that changes his life. A remake of the 1963 movie of the same name, The Nutty Professor from 1996 stars Eddie Murphy in 7 different main roles in it – including as Sherman Klump and his skinny altar ego Buddy Love and most of the Klump family. The cast also includes Jada Pinkett Smith, James Coburn, Dave Chappelle, Larry Miller, John Ales, and Jamal Mixon. Grossly overweight yet good-hearted professor Sherman Klump takes a special chemical that turns him into the slim but obnoxious Buddy Love. It’s showtime, everybody! Celebrate its 30th anniversary when the film returns to theaters this September. Way back in 1996, this was a huge box office hit – earning $128 million on its opening run that summer. Does it hold up all these years later? Well, go back to theaters and find out.

Hercules! Hercules! Hercules! That’s the excitement buzzing around the theatrical return of Tom Shadyac’s 1996 sci-fi comedy The Nutty Professor, starring Eddie Murphy, back in theaters for a 30th anniversary re-release event. When Professor Sherman Klump’s (Murphy) experimental weight-loss serum unleashes a fast-talking, larger-than-life alter ego, Buddy Love, Sherman’s world spirals into chaos as he scrambles to regain control. Now 3 decades later, audiences can experience Murphy’s hilarious multi-role performance on the big screen again. The Nutty Professor is directed by filmmaker Tom Shadyac, his second movie at the time after Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994) and before making Liar Liar (1997) next. The screenplay is by David Sheffield & Barry W. Blaustein, and Tom Shadyac & Steve Oedekerk. Based on the original 1963 comedy movie by Jerry Lewis and Bill Richmond. Produced by Brian Grazer & Russell Simmons. The film first opened in theaters in June 1996 and was a major box office success. Universal will re-release Shadyac’s The Nutty Professor film again in theaters nationwide on September 4th, 2026 coming up. Any big fans?
