Best canned cocktails: Our spirits editor picks six to try

This summer marks 40 years since M&S launched the first canned cocktails on the British high street. In May 1986 a tinned G&T, Rum & Cola and Whisky & American Dry appeared on M&S M&S shelves – and there’s been a steady rise in our love of tinnies since then.

In the UK canned cocktails have grown by around 8% annually since 2019, according to market research firm IWSR. The total global canned RTD (Ready To Drink) cocktail market has an estimated worth of $3.3bn and is projected to reach $5.9bn by 2030 according to Grand View Research.
