Rob Reiner Receives Posthumous Emmy Nomination for The Bear

Rob Reiner may be gone, but he is not forgotten: The beloved actor and director received an Emmy nomination Wednesday for his guest-starring work in The Bear. Reiner was one of many high-profile guest stars featured in Season 4 of the Emmy-winning FX comedy, but as Albert, a restaurant consultant brought in to work on the sandwich side of the restaurant business, he was a memorably hilarious addition to the show. (The fifth and final season included a subtle tribute to his legacy.)

The Bear picked up a total of eight nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, for its fourth season, which premiered in June 2025. Season 5 will be eligible for next year’s awards, as will Reiner in the Guest Actor in a Comedy Series category, thanks to his recent posthumous appearance on Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness. This is Reiner’s eighth Emmy nomination — he won two Emmys in the 1970s for his acting work on All in the Family. Check out the full list of 2026 Emmy Award nominations here.
